WHEN: Engineering Day, a free event for students in middle school, will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 7.

WHO: About 30 middle school students from Baltimore area schools will participate in the annual Engineering Day event sponsored by the Johns Hopkins University chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). A list of participating schools is below.
WHAT: Members of the Johns Hopkins NSBE chapter will help the students complete design projects modeled on activities presented on the PBS television program “Design Squad Nation.” Students will learn about the design process and hone their brainstorming, building and design-testing skills.
WHY: The purpose of the event is to encourage young students to consider further education and careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
