MEDIA ADVISORY: It’s “Baltimore Day” for Johns Hopkins First-Year Students

Sunday, Aug. 27, is “Baltimore Day” during orientation for first-year students at the Homewood campus of the Johns Hopkins University. Members of the class of 2021 will learn about the city and how to get around, visit city neighborhoods and institutions, and enjoy a Baltimore-themed cookout dinner.

Johns Hopkins University’s newest class of students arrives in Baltimore this week. A highlight for these students will be Baltimore Day, a chance to get to know the city they’ll call home over the next four years.

MEDIA ADVISORY: It’s “Baltimore Day” for Johns Hopkins Freshmen

“The idea of Baltimore Day is to get our students out of the Johns Hopkins bubble from the beginning and into places where they can learn to better understand the city that will be their home for four years,” said Justin Beauchamp, coordinator of orientation and first-year experience at the university. “We want them to appreciate the city’s history and culture and learn ways to engage in the greater Baltimore community.”
