Johns Hopkins Opens Doors with New Online Master of Engineering Management

Johns Hopkins Engineering for Professionals, the division of the Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering that administers part-time graduate programs, has announced the launch of a new master’s degree in engineering management.

Johns Hopkins Engineering for Professionals Instructor Elected Vice President of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers

Christian Davies-Venn, an instructor in the Johns Hopkins Engineering for Professionals program, has been elected vice president of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers. His term as AAEE vice president began on Jan.1. He is slated to serve as the academy’s president-elect in 2013 and as its president in 2014.

Johns Hopkins Engineering for Professionals Provides Maryland STEM Teachers with Free Graduate Education

The Johns Hopkins University’s Engineering for Professionals (EP), part of the Whiting School of Engineering, will provide free tuition beginning with the summer term to Maryland public and private high school teachers who want to further their professional development in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines.

Ralph Semmel Named Next Director of APL

Ralph D. Semmel, who currently oversees a variety of research and development activities at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, has been selected to lead the Laboratory as its next director. Semmel, who assumes his new role on July 1, succeeds Richard T. Roca, who has served as APL’s director since January 2000.
