Exhibit Explores Art and Artifice Behind History’s Greatest Fabrications

The 70 items on display at the George Peabody Library explore the phenomenon of forgery as a creative, as well as destructive literary form, and illustrate the tricks of the forger’s trade—and some of its most disastrous consequences—through materials that range from biblical and Greco-Roman antiquity up to the early decades of the 20th century.

Sheridan Libraries Acquire Unique Collection of Rare Books Related to Science and Discovery

The Johns Hopkins University Sheridan Libraries today announced the acquisition of a unique collection of 280 rare books and manuscripts relating to the history of scientific discovery from the late 15th to the 20th centuries. Made possible through a generous bequest from the Hinkes family, the collection was assembled over 20 years by the late Dr. Elliott Hinkes, a member of the School of Medicine’s class of 1967.
