Johns Hopkins University to Host Physics Workshop

A public lecture by noted condensed matter physicist and renowned speaker Philip Phillips of the University of Illinois will be the centerpiece of a workshop on “Exotic Insulating States of Matter” to be hosted by The Johns Hopkins University’s Henry A. Rowland Department of Physics and Astronomy Thursday, Jan. 14 through Saturday, Jan. 16 on the Homewood campus. Titled “From the Vulcanization of Rubber, to Quarks and High-Temperature Superconductivity: Physics at Strong Coupling,” the lecture is set for 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14 at Schafler Auditorium in the Bloomberg Center for Physics and Astronomy.
