A co-director of the Johns Hopkins University Center for Systems Science and Engineering is available to discuss a new website, launched today, that tracks the international spread of coronavirus in real time. The data visualizations are all available for download.

Lauren Gardner, a civil and systems engineering professor, and the center have built a website that displays up-to-the-minute statistics from various sources: the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China (NHC), and two other sites.

The Wuhan Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) Global Cases tracking site includes a map highlighting the confirmed number of cases and related deaths. At noon on Jan. 22, the site showed 17 deaths and 555 cases, with 444 confirmed in Hubei, 26 in Guangdong and 14 in Beijing.

The website provides a link to a downloadable Google Sheet that contains information on 31 Chinese cities as well as for the nations of Japan, Thailand, South Korea, and the United States. One case has been confirmed in Washington state.

Gardner can be reached at l.gardner@jhu.edu or through douglasjdonovan@jhu.edu.
