The Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, a site launched in the spring of 2020 to offer critical data and perspective during the pandemic, logged its one billionth page view today.

Launched March 3, the Coronavirus Resource Center has become a trusted destination for data on the spread and reach of COVID-19. Its continuously updated data trackers and tools help the public, policymakers and healthcare professionals worldwide respond to the pandemic. The site includes the latest numbers on cases, testing efforts and the vaccine rollout as well as expert analysis.

TIME named the Coronavirus Resource Center to its list of 2020’s Best Inventions, calling it “2020’s Go-To Data Source.”

“The overwhelming response to the Coronavirus Resource Center shows the public’s hunger for sound data and reliable guidance from a trusted source,” said Johns Hopkins University President Ron Daniels. “This interdisciplinary effort embodies the critical role that universities like Johns Hopkins play in advancing discovery and sharing crucial facts and research with the world.”

Johns Hopkins launched Prof. Lauren Gardner’s global COVID-19 Dashboard in late January 2020, and it quickly became a leading source of centralized data on the pandemic. As the threat from COVID-19 spread, the university expanded that effort into the Coronavirus Resource Center, harnessing expertise from across Johns Hopkins University to aggregate and analyze the best pandemic data available. The Coronavirus Resource Center is made possible through support from Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.
